God, the Father of mercies, through the Death and Resurrection of his Son, has reconciled the world to himself and poured out the Holy Spirit for the forgiveness of sins; through the ministry of the Church may God grant you pardon and peace, and I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Lent is a good time for an examination of conscience and to receive the sacrament of reconciliation in preparation for the celebration of Christ’s passion, death and reconciliation. Here is a partial list of Lenten communal reconciliation services in the Jefferson City diocese. Most services will include a short prayer service followed by individual confessions. Extra priests from neighboring parishes are typically present to help out. Additional services will be added to updated versions of this article at cathmo.com and to the diocesan calendar at diojeffcity.org/events as they are publicized.
