Plans are shaping up for the inaugural Catholic Rural Life Mass for this diocese, which Bishop W. Shawn McKnight will celebrate on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, at the Maries Creek Farm near Vienna.
The outdoor Mass will be at 2 p.m. at 10327 Maries Road 614 in Vienna.
A 4 p.m. catered meal will follow.
In the case of rain, the Mass will be in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 206 Sixth St. in Vienna.

Parishioners from nearby parishes are slated to serve in various liturgical roles for the Mass.
Prayer cards depicting St. Isadore, patron saint of farmers, will be provided by the Catholic Rural Farm organization in Minnesota.
Students from Visitation Inter-Parish School plan to sing a song at the event.
Arrangements have been made for the Vienna and Argyle Fire Departments to barbecue at the Vienna fire station and bring the meat to the farm.
Parking will be available in the fields surrounding the farm.
Limited straw bales and seating will be available, so attendees will be asked to bring their own chairs and/or blankets.
