PHOTOS: Memorial Day Mass in Resurrection Cemetery, blessing of new crucifix

Bishop W. Shawn McKnight offers Mass on Memorial Day (May 31, 2021) in the Mausoleum of Resurrection Cemetery in Jefferson City.

Father Louis Nelen, pastor of Cathedral of St. Joseph Parish in Jefferson City, concelebrated. Deacon John Schwartze, who assists the pastor of the Cathedral Parish and coordinates pre-ordination formation for the Permanent Diaconate in the diocese, assisted. 

In the cemetery after Mass, Bishop McKnight blessed the newly installed stone crucifix marking the section  set aside for priests, religious and bishops. The cemetery's interparish board of directors purchased the crucifix.
