Military veterans, public-safety personnel and first-responders were well represented at this year’s Veterans Day Mass and Prayer Service sponsored by the St. Peter Parish Holy Name Society. Monsignor Robert A. Kurwicki, vicar general of the diocese, presided and preached the homily. After Communion, parishioner Jack Dayton gave a reflection and led the praying of the Veterans Day Prayer. Members of the Knights of Columbus Dan C. Coppin and St. Jude Fourth Degree assemblies served as the honor guard. Members of various veterans’ organizations presented the colors and banners. Members of the Samuel F. Gearhart Detachment of the Marine Corps League provided a Three Volley Rifle Salute outside the church before the playing of “Taps.” (38 photos)
